Will the mobile phones go back to their basic function of making & receiving calls??

 

The next most popular future personal device may be the “touch pads” – like Apple iPad, HP Slate…or Microsoft’s Courier.. 

As of now we have smart phones like iPhone which bridged the gap between a personal mobile computing device & a phone.  Now that the “touch pads” supposed to replace / duplicate  the ‘smart’ functions of your smart phone…does it still make sense in carrying an iPhone + iPad?  Or I just switch to a simple mobile phone to make & receive calls, while I enjoy everything else with my Apple iPad OR HP Slate…or something else..??

       Will the mobile phones go back to their original use of making & receiving calls OR look for new avatars while merging with Watches, Pens, Belts??

Again, “touch pads” seem to be redefining our personal gadget gallery we carry with us all the times….
